Disc-Air Aero-mechanical Conveyor

Disc AirAero-mechanical conveying is a well established method of conveying high rates of product with air.  The conveyor consists of an inlet and outlet heads with piping in between. Running between the two heads is a wire rope with discs attached.  The discs move at a relatively high speed, drawing air in through the inlet.  As product as introduced, it becomes caught up in the air stream and is carried along.  At the discharge, centrifugal force separates the product from the air and discharges.  The empty discs return to the inlet to collect more material.  Product can be Disc Air Ropeconveyed horizontally, vertically or both. Discharge rates are considerably higher than other mechanical convey methods such as bucket elevators, drag conveyors or flexible screw conveyors.  Available materials of construction are Cast Iron, Cast Aluminum and Cast Stainless Steel for the inlet and outlet heads.  The convey lines are mild steel or stainless steel.  The wire rope is galvanized mild steel or stainless steel.  The discs are typically polyurethane with nylon clamps, but other discs materials are readily available. Sizes available are 3”, 4” and 5” with typical convey rates ranging from 550 cfh to 1600 cfh.  Product testing is available at the Canton, NC test lab.
